Ventry or Ceann Trá in Irish is a safe, sandy beach located on the sheltered sweeping arc of Ventry Harbour, a Natural heritage area rich in flora and fauna. The beach is located to the south west of Ventry village on the Dingle Peninsula approximately 10km west of Dingle town. It is one of Ireland's most beautiful beaches and is approx. five miles long, making it Ireland's third longest beach.  You can enjoy swimming, wind-surfing, kayaking and other water-sports, aswell as horse-riding on the beach or hiking on the nearby Mount Eagle (516m).  The site comprises of Ventry Strand a small dune system, a small lake, wet grasslands and an extensive Common Reed swamp.  Car access is just beyond the village of Ventry. This beach is lifeguarded during the bathing season (lifeguard times are posted on the information noticeboard at the beach).
