The Cavan Way is a gentle 23km (6 hour) walking trail starting from the village of Dowra. Travelling northward on country paths you reach the source of the River Shannon, the magical Shannon Pot. The route then enters the limestone karst landscape of the Cuilcagh and onto the village of Blacklion on the shores of Lough Macnean Lower.

Use our Map of Ireland and Sat Nav tool to get directions to the start point and our detailed maps and GPS on our ActiveME iPhone App and Android App to find and follow the walking route live on screen and keep on track. At all times, our maps and App should be used in conjunction with proper map and compass navigation techniques.
