Ballyteigue Nature Reserve is located near Lisdoonvarn, county Clare in the west of Ireland.  This reserve is a wet meadow heath, managed in the traditional way for hay making with the objective of maintaining them as examples of wet meadows found over the shale soils of the region.  The habitat is primarily molinia meadows (wet grassland). The Marsh Orchid is found in abundance on the site. Bird and Nature watching can be good on this reserve with Hare, Snipe, Common Frog and Orange Tip Butterfly found here.
