Gougane Barra Hotel, Ballingeary, West Cork, Ireland

Our lakeside location, in a valley surrounded by mountains add to the ‘get away from it all’ factor, which is very strong here. Our hotel is small and cosy with 26 bedrooms, and seasonal from April to October. We have a cute bar serving food during the week, two sitting rooms where you are welcome to drop in and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere here. Guests tend to return for generations, and new people are always welcome.

We have bikes, fishing, rowing boats and walking trails to the back door and are on the edge of a Coillte National Forest Park. Make it a magical memory for a family gathering, a romantic get away, an activity break or a family walking holiday in the hills surrounding us.
