Red Strand is a small beach in Dirk Bay, a small horseshoe bay near Rosscarbery on the south county Cork coast. The bay is a sheltered reef break that has reasonably consistent surf with the best wind from the north (see Magicseaweed for surf reports). Surf is best around high tide with care needed due to rocks in the line up. The bay also provides a tolerable anchorage in settled conditions in fine sand with good holding.
