Glanleam beach is located in a unique secluded spot on Valentia Island, Co. Kerry which is on the Ring of Kerry and Wild Atlantic Way in the south west of Ireland. The beach is surrounded by the stunning subtropical Glanleam Gardens which contain many species of plants, trees and flowers found nowhere else in Ireland and grow here due to the warmth of the Gulf Stream air from the Gulf of Mexico. It is a personal favourite of mine with many summer days spent here as a kid jumping into the sea from the pier, climbing rocks along the shore, snorkeling and fishing from the rocks at Lough an Iasc.
