Ballydonegan Strand is a fine sandy beach in west Cork, south west Ireland. A section of this beach is man made from crushed rock which was extracted from the now dramatic ruins of the Allihies Copper Mines.  This long beach at Ballydonegan strand, is on the Beara-Breifne way walking route and is a great fishing spot for bass, coalfish, cod, dogfish, flounder, pollock and turbot.

This beach is only a short drive from Allihies and there are also great walks and other activities in the area. Use our Map of Ireland and Sat Nav tool to get directions to the start point of this walk and use our detailed map and GPS on our ActiveME App to find and follow the walking route and keep on track.
