White Strand is a magnificent beach in southern County Mayo. The hill in the background is Knockmore on Clare Island. This beach has been awarded a Green Coast Award which is a relatively new national beach award. It acknowledges beaches which meet EC bathing water quality standards, but which are also prized for their natural, unspoiled environment.
