This easy 3km (0.5hr) loop walk which starts at the Trail Head at St Comghall’s Church at Lisheen, near Skibbereen and Ballydehob.

Leaving the Trail head, turn right down by the graveyard at St Comghall’s church. Gorse, whitethorn and fuchsia grow on the stone fences and wildflowers abound through the seasons like primrose, cornflower and violets.

Distinguishing features on this trail include two examples of Wedge Tombs or Dolmens at Kilkileen and Bawngare. Further north at Kilsarlaght, lies the site of an un-consecrated burial place - “Cillini”, which can be seen in a field in the distance. These were burial sites for unbaptized children.

After passing Lisheen National School (1906), a Stone Circle can be seen at a distance in a field opposite the school.
