Ballmacstoker Bay  is a stunning Blue Flag sandy beach on the shores of Lough Swilly. It gently slopes towards the Atlantic ocean and is located in a Natural Heritate Area. Portsalon is a coastal townland in County Donegal located on Lough Swilly and its beach was voted to the second most beautiful beach in the world by The Observer.

The beach at Portsalon can be reached by travelling north east in the R246 from Carrowkeel to Portsalon. The beach is lifeguard patrolled throughout the bathing season (lifeguard patrol times are displayed on the noticeboard at the beach).
