This section of disused railway from Bundoran to Belleek was part of the Enniskillen to Bundoran Railway which opened on 13th June 1866 and was operated by the Irish North Western Railway. This railway was then taken over by the Great Northern Railway (Ireland) in 1876 and closed on 1st October 1957.  A section of dismantled railway may have the potential to be developed as a walking/cycle route.
