The Bocan Stone Circle thought to date from 1500 - 3000 BC is located is an amazingly scenic spot with views of Inishowen and Trawbrega Bay near Culdaff, Inishowen, county Donegal in the northwest of Ireland. It is well worth the visit even for the views alone. Originally 30 stones, but unfortunately now only 7 stones are left standing of which the tallest is approx 7ft (2m) tall. In 1816 there were 12 stones standing but over time these have been knocked or removed possibly while working the lands to grow crops. The stone circle may originally have been a Sun Temple and its location would provide a perfect backdrop for ceremonies.
