This is a moderate 4 hour (9km) loop walking route on an old Mass path with great views from the summit of Beentee at 376m, Cahersiveen, Co. Kerry in the south west of Ireland. Although not a very high mountain, the views from here are spectacular.

This route begins in the centre of Cahersiveen town and follows both the purple National Loop arrows and blue arrows from the Fair Green car park traveling up towards Carhan Lower from where you have a panoramic view of the town and Valentia Harbour. This part of the route is also on the Kerry Way (a long-distance route) which is signposted with yellow arrows and the little walking man sign. After approximately 1mile, the loop joins an old mass path through Carhan Upper. To descend from the summit, follow the blue arrows and you will come down to Garranebawn along the obvious path. This lead you to a quiet back road where you turn right and follow the road back into town.

There are plenty of other routes to suit beginners to advanced walkers in the area, so please find a route that is right for you or your group. There is also a much shorter loop walk on the western slopes of the mountain which starts and finishes at Garranebawn and can be seen below.
