Banna Strand is part of a stunning 10km stretch of sandy beach backed by sand dunes located beside Ballyheigue Village and only 10 miles to the north west of Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland. There is surf fishing all along this beach for Flatfish and Bass.

The beach looks out over Tralee Bay extending from Ballyheigue Beach in the north to Barrow Beach and Tralee Golf Club in the south.  It is great for swimming, surfing, walking and many other watersports and has dunes along its entire length which rise up to 12 metres (40 ft) in height. From here you also have great views of the Dingle Peninsula and its mountains, including Brandon Mountain to the south west.

Use our Map of Ireland and Sat Nav tool to get directions and our detailed route map and GPS on our ActiveME App to find the beach fishing spot live on screen and keep on track.  At all times, our maps and App should be used in conjunction with proper map and compass navigation techniques.
