Old Barracks Heritage Centre is a unique building in Cahersiveen, Co. Kerry.  This unusual building design was constructed between 1870 and 1875 and served as the Royal Irish Constabulary Barracks. 

Today it serves as a Heritage Centre for the Iveragh Peninsula.  It is home to various exhibitions that relate to the local area, including The Great Southern and Western Railway, The Life and Times of Daniel O'Connell, The Fenin Rising of 1867, The 1916 Rising and Monsignor Hugh O' Flaherty (The Scarlet Pimpernel).   One local story suggested that the plans for this unusual building were mixed up with plans for a building in India. Toilets are available and there is also a lift to all floors.

The opening Times are as follows:

-          Mon to Fri: 10am to 4:30pm

-          Sat: 11:30am to 4:30pm

-          Sun: 1pm to 5pm

Entrance Fees are as follows:

-          Adult: €4

-          OAP and Children: €2

-          Student: €3.50

-          Family: €9 for 2 Adults and 2 Children

Groups: 10-20 @ €3 pp and 20+ @€2 pp
