Welcome to Geokaun Mountain and Foher Cliffs, Valentia Islands Highest Point.

  • Geokaun mountain and Fogher cliffs is an outdoor family mountain park. You can walk or drive to the summit which is 888 feet or 270m high. There are 3 parking areas at intervals to the top, so it is very accessible and enjoyable for anyone, from kids to experienced hikers on our great loop walks.
  • There are 4 viewing areas, including a viewing deck at (180m or 600ft) Fogher cliffs. The summit is the highest point on Valentia Island, so you can see amazing sights such as The Skelligs, Dingle and The Blaskets, Kerrys highest peak Carrauntoohil, Beginis Island, Valentia lighthouse, Portmagee and the Atlantic stretching Westwards as far as the eye can see.
  • Enjoy your lunch at any of the picnic tables at various locations on the mountain. Also, there are 36 information panels about the mythology, history, wildlife and geography of the area. Feel free to upload your pics to our facebook page if you have visited!
  • Entrance fee of €5 per car or family OR €2 per pedestrian or cyclist and we are open from 6am to 12 midnight.
