Waterford City is the oldest city in Ireland having been founded by the Vikings in the 9th century. The city exudes history and it’s easy to get a sense of times gone by throughout the narrow streets of Waterford. Known as the capital of the ‘Sunny South East’ you’ll find a plethora of wonderful views in the city, along the River Suir, in the surrounding mountainous region, and of course along the stunning coastline.
The vast history of Waterford City can be uncovered in the Waterford Treasures, a set of three museums housed in historical buildings each detailing a separate section of history including Viking, medieval and Georgian Waterford. The streets are packed with pubs, restaurants and live entertainment throughout the week to suit any mood. The culinary scene has been thriving in recent years and it’s highly recommended to visit one of the many restaurants and try the local seafood dishes that come from the local shores.
Europcar Waterford is located just outside the city in a convenient location close to major roadways. We have a wide range of cars and vans available to rent.
