To the west of the famous MacGillycuddy Reeks is the peaceful, remote and lonely Coomasaharn Lake and Horseshoe walking route along the mountain ridge that surrounds the beautiful Coomasaharn Lake and valley below. The Coomasaharn Horseshoe walk near Glenbeigh, County Kerry is a strenuous 6 to 7 hour (16 km) walking route visiting all peaks on the horseshoe including Been Hill (651m), Mullaghnarakill (665m), Teermoyle Mountain (760m), Coomacarrea (An Tráigh) Mountain (772m), Meenteog (715m) and Knocknaman (561m) for this shorter loop walk (16km) and via Macklaun Mountain (607m) for the longer (24 km) loop finishing in Glenbeigh. There is an even longer Coomasaharn Horseshoe Walk which can be seen here.
