Derrynane House in Irish 'Teach Dhoire Fhionáin' was the ancestral home of the famous Irish politician and statesman, Daniel O’Connell ‘The Liberator’. He was born in 1775 to a wealthy Catholic family and spent much of his early life with his uncle, Maurice, at Derrynane House near the vilalge of Derrynane, Co. Kerry.The house now an Irish National Monumement and part of the 320 acre (1.3 km²) Derrynane National Park.
